Director of Counseling: Lily Medina

In her role as Director of Counseling, Ms. Medina works with faculty, parents, and students to foster a caring, supportive, safe environment in which students can experience successful academic, social, and emotional development. She provides individual and small-group counseling to meet students' developmental and emotional needs; communicates and meets with parents regarding physical, social, emotional, or psychiatric concerns; and works closely with the faculty, parents and the school's Center for Learning.
 
Another critical component of this position is that of working closely and collaboratively with the Director of Admission and Enrollment Management, the Associate Head of School, the Head of School and the 5th Grade Teaching Team surrounding the highly competitive placement process of our 5th Grade students into middle schools upon their graduation from St. Thomas.

A graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Psychology and Spanish, recipient of a M.Ed. in Counseling and Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago, Ms. Medina also has a Specialist endorsement in Educational Leadership from FIU.
