Tuition Assistance Overview

Need-Based Tuition Assistance
Our Tuition Assistance program is designed to make a St. Thomas education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. The student’s admission process is separated from the tuition assistance application so that the student is guaranteed consideration on his or her own merits, not the family’s ability to pay tuition.

Awards are not intended to cover 100% of the cost of attending St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School and are given for one year. Assistance is not available for students entering preschool with consideration given to those entering kindergarten through 5th grade only.

  • New families applying for Tuition Assistance

As a new family applying to St. Thomas, it is important that you complete the process as early in the year as possible.  Please refer to the important dates tab and note that priority is given to our current St. Thomas school and church families who complete the process prior to the January 17 deadline.

In addition to uploading all required IRS forms, parent(s) must also upload a personal letter to Clarity Tuition stating why the family is applying for tuition assistance.

Note that all tuition assistance awards are contingent upon the receipt and review of your 2024 year-end IRS forms and schedules, including each parent's 2024 W2.
  • Divorced or separated families

Should a divorced family be seeking tuition assistance for their child, both the custodial and non-custodial parents must complete separate Clarity Tuition applications. St. Thomas considers the assets and income of both natural parents, if living, before considering any award.
  • Applications completed after the deadline

New and renewal applications completed after the specified deadlines, as long as funds remain available, may be considered. Amounts awarded to this final group may be reduced as our budget nears exhaustion.

Funds are not reserved for families whose application or supporting documents are received late.
St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School has chosen Clarity Tuition to conduct the financial need assessments for families interested in applying for Tuition Assistance. A family’s eligibility for assistance is determined through analysis of information provided on the application and the family’s previous two years of tax returns. Our Tuition Assistance Committee then analyzes a family’s financial picture and conducts a review. Clarity Tuition and our methodology help us determine a family’s discretionary income and need. The amount of the award is not applied to fees, tablets, uniforms, and after-school enrichment programs.

To get started, please click on the Clarity Tuition application link below and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. It is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Tuition application for no additional charge.
