You may choose to make a promised gift in the future instead of giving right away. Pledges to the Stewardship Campaign are due by December 15th, 2026. Please note that pledge deadlines for other funds may vary. For details, contact the Office of Advancement at advancement_office@stepsmia.org  or 786-268-3428.

You may make your pledge by filling out a paper pledge card and return it to the Office of Advancement. Alternatively, you may submit your pledge online with the Bill Me Later option. You may also set up automatic Pledge Monthly Installments.

Please keep in mind that St. Thomas accepts gifts from donor-advised funds (DAF). If you have a DAF, please consider recommending to your financial advisor that they support St. Thomas.

Gifts of stock are advantageous as the donor may deduct the full market value on the date of the gift, and avoid capital gains tax.

Planned giving, often called legacy giving or gift planning, involves making charitable donations with a long-term view, typically as part of an individual's estate planning. The impact of planned giving can be significant, both for the donor and the charitable organizations receiving these gifts. There are several avenues for leaving a planned gift with St. Thomas Episcopal Parish Church and School and joining the significant Heritage Society, a community of supporters like you who have chosen to leave a planned gift to St. Thomas generously. We encourage you to speak with an attorney and your tax or financial advisor to ensure that you make the best decision for you and your family. The IRA Charitable Rollover provision allows individuals who have reached age 70 ½ to donate up to $100,000 to charitable organizations directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without treating the distribution as taxable income.

There are no limitations on bequest gifts. Bequests may be made for a general or specific purpose. All bequests are exempt from federal estate taxes. If you have a taxable estate, the estate tax charitable deduction may offset or eliminate estate taxes, resulting in a larger inheritance for your family. A bequest is an easy way to leave your family legacy and open doors for St.Thomas Episcopal Parish School students. Here’s how:

• Name St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School or St. Thomas Episcopal Church in your will or revocable trust.

• Designate St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School or St. Thomas Episcopal Church as a complete, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 410(k), 403(b)

• Designate St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School or St. Thomas Episcopal Church as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy
