About Us

Welcome to St. Thomas Episcopal Parish! From our humble beginnings in 1950 with services held under a tent, to our robust parish and its ever-vibrant community today, we are proud of our decades long history of proclaiming the Kingdom of God. We’re located in the south part of Coral Gables, bordered by the communities of Pinecrest, South Miami, and Dadeland/East Kendall. St. Thomas is comprised of our vibrant church and parish school. We believe that all people are God’s children, and we welcome all—from every walk and stage of life. We invite you to join our community as we journey toward richer, more meaningful lives, experiences, and contributions to our world.
We’re grounded in the Christian and Anglican-Episcopalian traditions and are open to the way this heritage continues to evolve within a rapidly changing world—a world that more than ever needs a sense of community, and the hope and love of Jesus.
Our parish reflects the cultural breadth and richness of the greater Miami area. People of all ages, cultures, ethnicities, religious traditions, and sexual orientation are active parts of St. Thomas. On Sunday mornings, we are currently offering Morning Mass in the Resurrection Chapel at 8:00 a.m. We also offer Traditional Service with choir and organ music at 10:15 a.m. Midweek adult study and fellowship groups, along with outreach and music ministries, are active and welcoming. Wherever you are on your own spiritual journey, please consider joining us for worship, celebration, learning, fellowship, and outreach to the local community and beyond.
The Rev. Timothy Fleck, Rector
Originally from southern Indiana, Fr. Tim joined the Episcopal Church in his thirties in the midst of a successful nineteen-year career as an architect. His journey to the priesthood was shaped by a deep love of community and the ways in which faith can shape both spaces and lives. Before being called to St. Thomas, he served congregations in Indianapolis, Indiana; Lexington, Kentucky; and Mount Desert Island, Maine, each experience deepening his appreciation for the diversity and vitality of parish life.
Fr. Tim arrived at St. Thomas in 2020, drawn to the opportunity to serve a vibrant parish with a strong sense of purpose and belonging. Though he had never before served a church with a school, he quickly discovered how rewarding it is to be surrounded by 425 energetic and curious students each day. The joy, laughter, and questions of young people have become an integral part of his ministry, reminding him daily of God’s creativity and love at work in the world.
Fr. Tim has shared life’s adventures with his husband, Bob, since 1994, and more recently, with their rescue dog, Tori. Whether greeting families on campus, leading worship, or simply sharing stories over coffee after services, Fr. Tim strives to embody the welcoming spirit that defines the St. Thomas community.
