Overview

Financial Assistance Guidelines
St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School adheres to a longstanding policy of admitting students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin, and entitles them to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the School. The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid programs, or school-administered programs.

Need-Based Financial Assistance
St. Thomas awards financial assistance based on demonstrated need to families of accepted students in kindergarten through Grade 5, and assists families of qualified students who would benefit from the school’s program, but who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend.  The student’s admission process is separated from the financial assistance application so that the student is guaranteed consideration on his or her own merits, not on the family’s ability to pay tuition.

Awards are not intended to cover 100% of the cost of attending St. Thomas Episcopal Parish School and are given for one year. Assistance is not available for students entering junior or senior preschool.

To assist the school's financial assistance committee in determining financial need, the school uses TADS, an outside service that collects and processes all financial assistance paperwork.  All completed applications and corresponding documents are thoroughly reviewed by our committee in an equitable manner.

Requests for financial assistance must be completed annually.

  • New families applying for Financial Assistance

As a new family applying to St. Thomas, it is important that you complete the process as early in the year as possible.  Please refer to the important dates tab (on this page) and note that priority is given to our current St. Thomas school and church families who complete the process prior to the January 18 deadline.

In addition to uploading all required IRS form, parent(s) must also upload a cover letter to TADS stating why the family is applying for financial assistance.

  • Divorced or separated families

Should a divorced family be seeking financial assistance for their child, both the custodial and non-custodial parents must complete separate TADS applications. St. Thomas considers the assets and income of both natural parents, if living, before considering any award.
  • Applications completed after the deadline

New and renewal applications completed after the specified deadlines, as long as funds remain available, may be considered. Amounts awarded to this final group may be reduced as our budget nears exhaustion.

Funds are not reserved for families whose application or supporting documents are received late.
