LETTER FROM HEATHER TILLETT STENSTROM, CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Dear St. Thomas Community,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! My name is Heather Tillett Stenstrom, and I am honored to serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees this year. My family has been part of the St. Thomas community for 14 years. Cristian and I are deeply grateful to have watched Hugo (’19), Stella (’22), and Lily (’26) thrive—both during their years at St. Thomas and in the paths they’ve pursued beyond. I have been thankful for the opportunity to serve St. Thomas in many capacities, including six years on the Board of Trustees and two years as Vice Chair from 2023 to 2025. It is a privilege to give back to the school that has nurtured our children for so many years.

We are truly blessed to be part of this community. Led by our passionate and dedicated Head of School, Sarah Kemeness, along with an exceptional faculty and staff, St. Thomas is grounded in the people who educate and inspire our children every day. Their commitment to excellence and genuine care for our students is the heart of St. Thomas. Together with parents who are deeply engaged, St. Thomas stands as a shining example of what a strong, connected community can be.

This school year holds great promise. Earlier this year, St. Thomas finalized its Strategic Plan, which will guide our work in the years ahead. At its core, this Plan focuses on uniting us as One St. Thomas, deepening our community engagement, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring excellence in programs, prioritizes faculty support and wellness, and commits to strategic growth and sustainability. I am eager for us to seize the opportunities ahead to bring these priorities to life, strengthening our community today and building an enduring foundation for the future.

As I often say, “I always want to come home to St. Thomas.” I know many of you feel the same way, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together this year.
